Commenting on CBI President Paul Drechsler’s Mansion House speech later today, Ben Bradshaw MP, leading supporter of Open Britain, said:
“The Government has a duty to listen when Britain’s biggest business organisation warns against trading with Europe on WTO rules. Doing so would create huge barriers to trade which would damage businesses and cost jobs.
“David Davis promised us that the Government would get a trade deal that delivers ‘the exact same benefits’ as we have now. That is the metric on which the deal they negotiate must be judged.
“The threat of a failed negotiation and a cliff-edge Brexit shows why MPs must have the power to hold the Government to its promises and have a meaningful vote on the final deal.”
