Government must give Parliament a voice and a vote on its EU negotiating position

Commenting on David Davis’ statement in the House of Commons today, Dominic Grieve MP, supporter of Open Britain, said:

“Believing in parliamentary scrutiny does not mean ignoring or subverting the result of the referendum; it would simply give MPs the chance to do their job to shape a Brexit deal that is in the interests of their constituents.

“The Government needs to give Parliament a real voice and a vote on the broad outline of its negotiating position. This will strengthen its position in any subsequent negotiation, not weaken it.”
