Commenting on the news that the construction, manufacturing and services Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) forecasts have all fallen short of expectations, offering signs that the UK economy is losing momentum ahead of Brexit, Roland Rudd, Chairman of Open Britain, said:
“This is the worst hat-trick news for the country since Shane Warne was terrorising our batting line ups.
“From services to manufacturing to construction, it is clear that Brexit uncertainty is having a damaging effect on our economic performance.
“The Government desperately needs to listen to the concerns of business. A hard and destructive Brexit risks leaving us all poorer.”
