The Office of National Statistics (ONS) this morning (Thursday) issued revised GDP growth figures, lowering their estimate of economic growth for the fourth quarter of 2017 to just 0.4% .
Commenting Ben Bradshaw MP, leading supporter of the Open Britain campaign, said:
“Brexit is dragging Britain backwards, killing growth, battering the pound and pushing up prices.
“The downwards revision in economic growth merely confirms the trend. Brexit has turned Britain from top of the class of the EU and G7 into the dunce in the corner.
“As the Cabinet meet to discuss their negotiating position on Brexit they should seize the opportunity to offer stability and certainty and back Britain staying in the Customs Union and Single Market.”
