During a press conference with Theresa May today, the Danish Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said that Brexit would create “more bureaucracy” for businesses trading between the two countries.
He also said that “Leaving the single market comes with a price tag.”
Commenting, Mary Creagh MP, leading supporter of Open Britain, said:
“We were promised a Brexit deal that would keep the ‘exact same benefits’ in terms of trade as we enjoy now, as full members of the EU. Now that fiction is crumbling under the weight of reality.
“These comments by the Danish Prime Minister just underline the fact that Brexit will come with a big, fat price-tag and that it will mean a bombshell of extra bureaucracy and new red-tape for UK businesses trading with the EU.
“As the Brexit that is being delivered looks less and less like the one that was promised, we are all entitled to keep an open mind about whether it’s the right path forward for the country.”
