Eurotunnel have issued a public warning that neither of the Government’s preferred options on customs if Britain leaves the EU are likely to work.
Commenting, Stella Creasy MP, leading supporter of the People’s Vote campaign, said:
“The message from Eurotunnel is clear: neither of the Government's proposals on customs will work and both threaten to turn Kent into a chaotic lorry park.
“We already know that adding just eight minutes to the average time taken to check a vehicle at the Channel will send queues back to the M25.
"Leaving the Customs Union and Europe's economic area and Single Market will do irreparable damage to British business, British jobs and British prospects. Nobody voted to cause chaos or make their families poorer.
"As the threat that Brexit poses to our future becomes clear, more and more people are joining the demand for a People's Vote on the final Brexit deal."
