Doughty – O’Grady is right that working people are better off in the Single Market

Commenting on Frances O’Grady’s speech today at the TUC conference, Stephen Doughty MP, leading supporter of Open Britain, said:

“Working people will be better off if Britain stays in the Single Market and the Customs Union, as Frances O’Grady said in her excellent speech today.

“She is right that the Government’s Christmas wish-list is proving to be undeliverable. At this rate, we’ll be lucky if talks with the EU on trade even begin before the New Year.

“It’s about time for the Government to listen to the voices of Britain’s trades unions, who are clear that their members will be left worse off if we leave the Single Market and Customs Union.”
