The Scottish Government has today published research that shows Single Market and Customs Union membership is essential for Scotland’s future prosperity.
Commenting, John Edward, Open Britain’s Scotland adviser, said:
"Today's analysis by the Scottish Government once again demonstrates the importance of staying in the Single Market and Customs Union to the Scottish economy.
"The Government in Westminster needs to wake up to the fact that Scotland would be worse off under any other scenario. Scotland's economic future is best served by preserving the closest possible ties to the EU, the UK's largest trading partner.
"Nobody voted in June 2016 to make themselves or their country poorer, but that is what will happen unless the entire UK's economic well-being is safe-guarded. That means staying in the Single Market and Customs Union for the long term."
