Karen Bradley, Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, admitted today that the Government has yet to make a single proposal in EU negotiations about food and animal checks at the Irish border.
Under questioning at the Commons European Scrutiny Committee, she also admitted she was yet to visit Brussels.
Commenting, Darren Jones MP, leading supporter of the People’s Vote campaign said:
"It's remarkable that the Government hasn't made a single proposal on how it will deal with any single market border checks after Brexit, including on food and animal products."
"Time is quickly running out, and we will have no implementation period without resolving the Northern Ireland border question. This whole fiasco is bordering on incompetence."
