Brexit Secretary David Davis this evening repeated his claim that if MPs vote against any Brexit deal agreed by Theresa May they would be voting to leave the European Union without any deal.
Earlier Shadow Foreign Secretary Emily Thornberry said Labour would vote for a “blah, blah, blah divorce” from Europe, giving the Government a free hand in negotiations.
Commenting, Caroline Lucas MP, leading supporter of the Open Britain campaign, said:
“Both Government and Opposition frontbenchers seem to be taking Parliament for granted today.
“Our sovereign Parliament voted for a ‘meaningful vote’ on any Brexit deal and that is what we should get.
“MPs from across the party divide will rightly demand nothing less for our democracy.
“Neither ‘blah, blah, blah’ nor tired rhetoric about ‘no deal’ is good enough.”
