Commenting on the urgent question in the House of Commons today on the Government’s Brexit sectoral impact assessments, Seema Malhotra MP, leading supporter of Open Britain, said:
“Nearly a year after the Secretary of State informed Parliament of these analyses, and two weeks after he said the Prime Minister had seen the findings, Ministers are today saying the country that these reports do not exist.
“They are now calling for a three-week delay before any documents are provided to the Brexit Select Committee
“This is not about leave or remain, but the county planning together for the big changes ahead. The Government must release these analyses, unchanged and unredacted, to the Select Committee immediately. Anything less will be justifiably viewed as an attempt to avoid scrutiny by Parliament and the public.”
