McGinn – “Brexit squeeze is hitting family finances”

Retail sales show the weakest annual growth in four years.

Commenting, Conor McGinn MP, leading supporter of the Open Britain campaign, said:

“Today’s figures underline how the Brexit squeeze is hitting family finances with the lowest growth in retail sales for four years.

“It is hardly surprising that retail growth is slowing when Brexit has pushed prices up in the shops and inflation is outstripping wages.

“As new facts continue to emerge about Brexit, people have every right to keep an open mind about whether it is the best direction for our retail sector and our economy as a whole.”
