Scotland and the whole of Britain are better off in the Single Market

Commenting on the Scottish Government’s Brexit proposals announced today, John Edward, Scotland Director of Open Britain, said:

“Scotland’s economy is best served by staying in the Single Market, but the same is true of the UK economy as a whole.

“If the UK Government wants what is best for prosperity, jobs, and investment in Scotland and the rest of the United Kingdom, they will put UK membership of the Single Market at the heart of their negotiating strategy.

“Whatever you think of the First Minister’s proposals, at least they are putting forward ideas for debate. The UK Government should follow suit and publish their substantive plans for what they want to get out of the negotiations.”
