Streeting – Government’s security position paper is vague and lacks a concrete plan

Commenting on the publication today of the Government’s Brexit position paper on ‘Security, law enforcement and criminal justice’, Wes Streeting MP, leading supporter of Open Britain, said:

“The Government are right to call for a deal with the EU which retains the vital security cooperation we have built up over decades of membership.

“But this vague position paper gives no concrete plan as to how that might be achieved. At the moment the clock is ticking and we are staring down the barrel of a hard Brexit that will put our security at risk.

“The Government need to ensure that Britain’s national security will not be compromised in any way by Brexit.”
