Shadow Brexit Secretary Sir Keir Starmer today said he would reject any Brexit deal that the Prime Minister brought back from Brussels which did not meet his tests and instead seek a better Brexit deal.
Commenting, Jo Swinson MP, leading supporter of the Open Britain campaign, said:
“What happens if the deal agreed by the Prime Minister is actually the best on offer?
“It is increasingly clear that there is no magical solution that will allow us to retain all the benefits of EU membership while ditching certain bits. The sooner both Labour and the Conservatives recognise this and drop their red lines, the better.
“Labour should be willing to say that if Brexit means a worse deal than we have at present we all have the right to turn it down.”
