Theresa May must take a constructive tone with parliament, as well as with European leaders

Commenting on the Prime Minister’s comments after the European Council meeting today in Brussels, Dominic Grieve MP, leading supporter of the Open Britain campaign, said:

“The Prime Minister’s tone at the Summit of constructive dialogue with the EU was welcome. Her Government must now pursue a similarly constructive dialogue with our own parliament.

“The best place to start would be for the Government to commit to a debate and a vote in the House of Commons on the Government’s principles for the upcoming negotiations before they trigger Article 50.”
