The Cabinet’s Brexit subcommittee has once again failed to reach any agreement on how the UK’s customs arrangements with the EU should function post-Brexit.
Commenting, Gareth Thomas MP, leading supporter of the People's Vote campaign, said:
“The endless process of the Government negotiating with itself rumbles on, as Ministers have once again failed to reach any agreement on post-Brexit customs arrangements.
“Ministers seem to be adopting an approach familiar to anyone who has had to put off doing a difficult chore: ‘I’ll sort it out later, I’ve still got time’. But the clock is ticking.
“The whole process is a farce as the EU has already said that both of the Government’s proposed customs models won’t work: Ministers are currently engaged in a process of deciding which breed of Brexit unicorn they prefer.
“With no clarity whatsoever about what the Government even wants Brexit to look like, we need a People’s Vote on whatever deal we end up with.”
