The EU has passed a law requiring firms to comply with local standards when they post workers temporarily to another EU country.
The vote passed by the European Parliament means posted workers will be entitled to the same level of pay as their local counterparts.
Commenting, Chuka Umunna MP, leading supporter of the People’s Vote campaign, said:
“Today's vote in the European Parliament on tightening free movement of labour rules shows that there is no appetite in the EU for workers to have their salaries undercut.
“Brexiters claim that free movement cannot be reformed but today's vote shows the complete opposite.
“With the EU reforming just as we're looking to leave it is only right to have a People's Vote on the final Brexit deal.”
