Theresa May is to deliver a speech on Brexit tomorrow (Friday).
Commenting, Chuka Umunna MP, leading supporter of the Open Britain campaign, said:
“Over eighteen months since the referendum and the Government’s negotiating position remains a mess. They are still pretending we can have our cake and eat it – this is fantasy land.
“This is the culmination of a series of speeches we were told would make the road to Brexit clearer but all it has done is show up huge, gaping potholes.
“This was the last chance for the Prime Minister to finally face down the Brextremists on the right of her party and do what is in the best interests of the country, but yet again she has failed to do so.
“The Brexit they are seeking to impose on the country is not the one that was promised. As that becomes clearer, people have every right to keep an open mind about whether Brexit is the right path for Britain.”
