Wilson – “Not surprising Labour voters reconsidering Brexit”

Pollster Peter Kellner has published research showing up to one million Labour voters who previously supported Brexit are “having second thoughts”.

Commenting, Phil Wilson MP, leading supporter of the People’s Vote campaign, said:

“It is not surprising that Labour voters are most open to looking again at whether it is right to leave the EU: it is working people who will have the most to lose if things go wrong with Brexit.

“The result of the 2016 referendum gave the Government a mandate to negotiate Brexit and attempt to seek a good deal on leaving the European Union.

“It is now very clear that many of things we were promised on Brexit are not going to be delivered and that many families’ security and prosperity are going to be threatened by a bad Brexit deal.

“Brexit is a big deal, not a done deal, which is why more and more people are demanding a People’s Vote on the final Brexit deal.“
