This event has a new date. We'll now be holding the webinar on Wednesday 17 June at 6.30pm. Anyone who has already registered will automatically receive the joining link, so there's no need to register again. If you haven't signed up yet, we'd love you to join us – register below.

In April, Open Britain  joined the 99% Organisation in Parliament for the launch of their new report, Defensive Constitutional Reform. Together with other democracy campaigners we met MPs and peers to explore how the UK's democratic institutions can be strengthened.

Now, we're inviting you to join the conversation.

Defensive Constitutional Reform: What We Told Parliament – and Why It Matters

In this special online discussion we’ll explore the report's findings, discuss the conversations we had in Parliament, and explore what reforms are needed to safeguard British democracy for the future.

The discussion will be chaired by Dominic Minghella and features an expert panel including:

  • Professor Andrew Blick, King's College London and co-author of Could it Happen Here? The Day a Prime Minister Refuses to Resign

  • Tom Brake, CEO of Unlock Democracy and former MP

  • Mark Kieran, CEO of Open Britain

  • Professor Christina Pagel, founder of the Trump Action Tracker

  • Mark E Thomas, founder of the 99% Organisation and author of 99%: Mass Impoverishment and How We Can End It

Register now to hear directly from the people who presented these ideas in Parliament and explore why the UK must strengthen its democratic safeguards before they are put to the test.
